Halifax... N some more...

hMMM....

Quite an amount of time for re-visiting here. Seems like all the while, its all worthwhile waiting. Gone are those days of Sunrise of 7:45 AM and Sunset of 4:45 PM. Now it is 5:45 AM and 8:30 PM.

Played Soccer after a decade (nay, ppl dont understand futball, for sure, you will be asked - 'as in soccer'). It was on Thursday evening, 5:30 PM to 7 PM. Hurt my joint, had a nasty fall on the lawn to have bruises on my ankles and rashes on my knees. Yeah.. neither did I know that I could be hurt on grass. Well, I could feel the game for the next 3 days... all over my body :-P

How does it feel to jog for and hour at 7:30 PM ... Hmmm... I guess it feels exactly the way when I jog in Bangalore at 5:30 PM - minus dust - minus pollution...! (Sorry my beloved Bangalore, I cant hide the truth.. sob.. sob) Kinda good. Kinda cool, amidst the huge park stretching in length and breadth. Photos soon as how beautiful it is.

Holiday on Monday 23rd May for Victoria day. Planned to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Two, no, Three things to write, Atlantic Ocean from Canada, a total distance of 4165 kms in 3 days and eastern in latitude to loose an hour of time. First place to visit was Blomidon, along the edges of Bay of Fundy, last place for Glooscape to settle down. Liked it. Drive was good, plush green fields all around, solemn-lonely houses on the drive, villages with 10-20 houses and again, plush green fields. What we guys lacked the most is proper sun-light.

Sad that we did not time the high tides for the day...:-( .(Search "Bay of Fundy" for details) Reached Halifax and looked for a place to rest. After 2-3 options, we agreed upon a youth hostel (???) - Halifax backpackers. Roamed around the city, harbor and Citadel. Contrasting to our Montreal experience, city was very dull in the evening. Strolled some more and got in a Caribbean restaurant. Fortunately, ppl could find what they wanted, including me, a veggie meal. (This place is famous for red-prawns) Dunno if for the lack of proper food for more than a day (we've been driving all night!!!), food was yummm... too good. Came back by 9:30 PM and slept on bunk beds. 8 beds and 6 guys... leaving the difference for our luggages.

Plan was to get up at 1 AM and visit places. High hopes. All of us were ready by 6:30 AM. :-)
Came out and realized that rain and wind gods had plans to wash all the dirt away, including the people. City was misty and not a point to go to elevated place - Cape Breton. Changed plans and moved to Peggy's Cove, to meet Atlantic Ocean for the first time. Wind speeds of 80 kmph and heavy rain. After getting out of the car, we witnessed the tug-of-war between the winds and gravity. Gravity won, but only by small numbers...! look out for the pics for details.

Halifax Citadel was the next visit. Artilleries, cultures... and some interesting points as to why this Citadel was literally unconquerable in those days. Next we went to the Marine Museum. Halifax is one such place where the lost-lives of the Titanic aftermath were buried. Details about Titanic, other types of boats, ships, light houses. Moved to Mc Donalds for Lunch at 5 PM.

Started heading back and on the way - 5 Islands. 5 wide spread islands on the Bay of Fundy. Usual land when no tides, and proper island when tides. Surprisingly could not figure out what water movements could have made them. With around 100+ Photos in the photo session, started moving back and reached Moncton for Dinner at 'Subway', and Gas for Caravan. I took over the wheel, crossed Fredericton and towards Edmundston. Drivers swithced for safey and sleep and safe-sleep reasons and reached Quebec City. Freshened up, breakfast at 'Tim Hortons' and back to Mississauga at 3:45 PM, Monday.

Slept at 6 in the evening to see light again at 7:30, next day morning. Overall, a wonderful, cloudy trip. Some enlightenment as to why Airplanes are required on earth.

Miss ya all ppl..
Miss ya Bangalore.
Darshan.
